SHC would like to welcome our new CEO, James Willis, who started on Wednesday 10th March 2021. Read on to get to know more about Jim and his experiences within healthcare and more.
Jim served in the British Army for almost 29 years, during which time he worked world-wide in a variety of operational leadership, strategy development, and high-level planning roles. He also led leadership training programmes at the renowned Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst.
On leaving the Army, Jim joined the Priory Group, Europe’s largest independent behavioural healthcare group. He spent 5 years in Priory’s mental healthcare business, and held positions as Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director, responsible for up to 44 Priory hospitals. Priory Adult Care ran 240 care homes and 11 Supported Living services across the UK, delivering care to 4,000 residents and service users.
Since leaving Priory, Jim has spent 10 months as the interim CEO of Westerleigh Group, the UK’s largest independent provider of crematoria and cemeteries, and he has run his own business as a consultant in the mental health and social care sectors, advising potential investors in the UK market.
Jim is married. He and his wife have 2 sons.
“I am truly delighted to be joining SHC and I much look forward to meeting our staff, residents and service users in the days ahead. It is a privilege to lead a team that provides care for some of the most vulnerable in our community, and I feel passionately that with our wholehearted commitment and support, those in our care will be able to live their lives, their way.”
