Kingsmead Lodge is a purpose-built bungalow on the outskirts of Horsham, West Sussex, that provides care for adults with learning and physical disabilities. This specialist care home with nursing facilities has been equipped with technology to aid care and provides a safe, comfortable, homely environment for the people we support.
Our aim is to provide a home that offers a safe, comfortable environment with support and stimulation to help people maximise their potential physical, intellectual, emotional and social capacity within an individual person-centred plan. The people we support have the right to live a life as fulfilled as possible and to have the respect of those who support them.
Care and Support
The home is registered to provide nursing and residential care, led by an experienced Home Manager. It is staffed with a qualified nurse 24 hours a day and a team of dedicated carers, experienced and trained in care and support.
SHC has access to a range of trusted external therapists, and physiotherapists are available to provide individual therapy sessions. Reflexology and aromatherapy are also available as part of a wide range of complementary therapies.
A full programme of activities is available in the home and transport is provided so that individuals are also able to utilise the considerable facilities for leisure and education in Horsham and surrounding areas. The activity unit is staffed by carers and led by an experienced Activities Co-ordinator.
Home-cooked food using fresh local produce is a feature of SHC establishments, and a chef is employed to provide excellent meals with the menus prepared in conjunction with the residents.
All staff undertake an induction programme when joining SHC. In addition, a system of supervision and support for care staff enables them to gain experience and increase their skills. Extensive in-house training is provided by the SHC Training Academy and QCF courses are undertaken in conjunction with local colleges.

My daughter had a beautiful room and a lovely relationship with all of the staff. in these Covid times they have looked after her well and set up video call facilities to maintain regular contact.
We are currently very happy with our daughter's placement at Kingsmead.
